Story: What love is all about

I was sent this story by my friend andI wanted to share it here on my blog.
True Love!

THIS IS WHAT LOVE IS ALL ABOUT!

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had notrecognized him in five years now.I was surprised, and asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message. I had to share this with you all. The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

Adison Graduates

Adison graduated today from Frisco High School. You will notice his hair is reddish in color. Last week, his friend that was supposed to graduate with him today, was killed in a motorcycle accident. He dyed his hair red in honor of his friend who had red hair. Here are some pictures of Adison & proud family. I cannot believe how fast they grow up. Gina would be proud, Adison is funny, huggy, and friendly....full of life!

Pie I made and more

I don't do very many creative things with food, so when I do I get excited. I made this pie for mother's day. It is called frozen lemonade pie from Southern Living magazine. It looks so pretty. Everyone was busy eating it when my sister says "it sure would taste good with some whip cream. OOOOPs! I forgot I was supposed to put dream whip topping on. I luckily had some cool whip and everyone got some. It was delicious.

Kylee and Luke have been gone for almost a week now. I miss them. They were full of fun and action. Here are some pics of them playing on mom and dads back porch.

Being a mom is tough

I have come to the conclusion that I think being a mom is one of the toughest jobs of all time. I think sometimes it is utterly impossible. I feel so unqualified. I am going thru a rough patch. I cannot stand it when someone says I am a good mom, Idon't feel like a good mom. I feel like most moms, confused as to what to do and pulled in so many directions. I feel hung up to dry. I love my kids dearly but I feel like a need a lesson on parenting. When will these feeling disappear? Will I ever feel adequate?

I wonder what we were saying. I look kinda serious.

Mom is crowned 50! Doesn't she look young?
I hope I look that good in 10 years.

Guess who's visiting?

Luke

Kylee

I had the pleasure of spending most of the day with my awesome niece and nephew. They kept me busy. We played every game I could think of and everything I could make up. Very smart, fun kids. It is a shame they have to live so far away. They are staying until the 15th so we will have many more fun times.

deep thoughts

Deep thoughts.....I have them often, then something comes and steals them from me and I cannot even remember what I was thinking. Ha! May 25th....important date....Johnny's back (captain Jack that is) in action. Baylee and I can't wait.
Here I am at the computer in the middle of the night again. Insomnia leads to daytime exhaustion which if I even try to nap my mind wanders and spins out of control. Is it possible to die from sleep deprivation? I remember when the kids were little, I was sure that I was close to death when they would keep me up all night, well actually it was just Ben who was the nonsleeper. He still doesn't require much sleep. He skateboards before he reports to work at 8 am and then he works until school time and then he still has energy! Amazing Kid!!! He is a constant state of action.
Bay only has 4 weeks of school left and then she will be a jr. She was accepted into the cosmo program, so for the next 2 years half of her day will be spent there. I know she is excited! I am too, maybe then she can pamper me when she needs a guinea pig. Her stalker is still in pursuit.
I have allergies this spring...what the heck...idk...i usually only suffer in the fall....however, i have these horrible itchy watery eyes.
These are not the deep thoughts I was having.........

Quotes I like!

Odd mood for me today so I thought I would share some qoutes I like!

"If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back it was never yours to begin with. But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free, you're probably related to it." - Chris Champagne

"If you don't want to work you have to work to earn enough money so that you won't have to work." --Ogden Nash

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.-- Albert Einstein

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile--hoping it will eat him last. -- Winston Churchill

Happiness is good health and a bad memory. -- Ingrid Bergman

Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. -- Jack Benny

Attitudes

Did you ever notice how contagious attitudes are? Bad and sour can bring someone down. Good and cheerful can light up a room. Fearful and defensive can be upsetting and put one on edge. Ambitious and goal oriented can motivate. For some reason our bodies can feel the vibe and it cuts like a knife, stings like a bee, jumps like a kangaroo, energizes like starbucks coffee! Remember your attitude spreads like an epidemic. What epidemic do you want to be responsible for?

One life to spend

I love this quote!! I don't know who said it but it is so true.
"Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once."
So dont waste time doing things that make you miserable. Focus on the good stuff!
