More Poppy seeds planted

I planted the rest of my poppy seeds in the fresh bedding mix.

I am waiting for one more shipment of seeds and then I will be ready for spring time beauty.

It turned out to be a sunshiny day but I hear that cold and maybe a wintry mix is on the way!

Winter is NOT my favorite time of year.

I guess that is why I plant my seeds and wait for spring to arrive.

Beautiful Texas Day

We had a little taste of spring in the air today. I love it. I rode my bike with my neice and nephew and then we took lilann for a walk by the creek (where a saw 4 deer crossing this morning). I did a little yard work and soaked in the sunshine. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm too, then the weekend oooohhh yucky! I planted some poppy seeds, larkspur, and birdeyes in the new compost that Ben spread out yesterday. One more load to go and the new flower bed will be ready for planting. As I gaze out my window I realize things are building up around us, but I think that is alright for now since the deer are still around.

Kidney Stones are hereditary

Last week Baylee and I spent a painful night in the ER at Baylor All Saints. She was in horrendous pain and I rushed her there for relief. What a mess!! This hospital was not ready to help my baby girl at the speed we would have liked! In the end we found out what was causing the pain....................kidney stones................just what I had suspected in the first place since I have been present each time my dear hubby has had kidney stones and there is a distinct behavior one exhibits when they are in such evil pain. UGH!
She managed to pass another stone last night. All I can say is next time we will try another ER
but we all sincerely hope there is not another such severe episode.

New Orleans

Roby's parents celebrated their 50th anniversary last week.
Eight of us got together for a celebration trip to New Orleans!
We stayed in this beautiful hotel that was built in 1907. We visited a cool cemetary.
Notice they bury their dead above ground due to the fact that when you dig down 1 to 2 feet there is water. The graveyards are so verrrry interesting.
Here is one of the pretty rooms.

The St. Louis Cathedral was spectacular.

Bourbon Street was full of strange and kinda sad.
Here we had the happy couple pose like it was the 1800's.

Pretty elevator doors even though we took the stairs.

Group pose in hotel lobby.
Mardi Gras Masks at the French Market.

Leprechaun on Bourbon Street!

Eating Beignets at Cafe Du Monde.
This summer we are going to visit Europe and celebrate our 25th and their 50th.
I hope when Roby and I celebrate our 50th we have their spunk.

Drums

Baylee got a set of drums for Christmas, I really like them.
I think I may learn how to play if I can find any rhythm!

Goldfinches Galore

They put up an ugly fence outside my kitchen window.
I decided to make use of it and hung a goldfinch feeder!
Wow, the back porch feeder is popular! All pretty goldfinches eating me out of thistle. This is what I love about January.

This morning a giant hawk wanted to make a meal out of my birdies.
I ran him off before I snapped a photo of him.

Happy New Year

Ha Ha, I am a party pooper, last night I was alone
(Roby worked and the kids were with friends)
so I went to sleep with my chihuahua at 9pm.
It felt great to get some rest until the fireworks woke me at midnight.
I am looking forward to an adventuresome 2009 full of TRAVEL!
Our first trip is next weekend to New Orleans.
Then skiing in February and Europe for our 25th this summer!
Of course there will be lots of camping trips and maybe even a cruise.
Plus a fun graduation party for Baylee this spring.
Busy year for the Judge Family!!!!!!!!!!!!
